How to Purchase Books
Our website is meant to serve as a resource for teachers to locate titles for their school and classroom libraries. Our goal is to get culturally relevant texts into children's hands through whatever means necessary. Kids Like Us is a not-for-profit reseller of children's literature, but we also encourage you to work with your school district's distributors to ensure they purchase these titles and make them available to your schools.
Currently, we keep a small inventory of titles on hand that are paired with professional development trainings. If you are having difficulty finding these titles, we can help. Proceeds from Kids Like Us book sales help support book giveaways, teacher grants, and community literacy programs.
For Schools and Non-Profit Organizations
There are several ways to access the KLU collection:
1. Contact us at 312-876-1289 or info@kidslikeus.org to arrange for Kids Like Us to provide professional development or technical support for your school. All trainings include books for teachers. We can develop custom book sets and teaching materials tailored to your school or organization's needs.
2. Contact us at 312-876-1289 to order book sets by phone or to develop a custom collection. Click here for a fillable PDF order form that can be completed and e-mailed or faxed for a sales quote. Kids Like Us offers a 20% discount off retail pricing on all books and book sets.
3. Create your own purchase order list by selecting "add to purchase list" from any book or set page. Insist that your distributor order and carry these titles if they are not currently on hand.
